ACCURATE RECORDING

Peoples’ recollection of events can change and therefore it’s important to make sure that the original account is faithfully recorded. The AV Niche (Recording System) Limited Rolec P4 will make four identical recordings of an interview with the best sound quality possible using standard C90 P.A.C.E. audio cassette tape.
The same components in the manufacture of the equipment are used within
professional sound broadcast equipment thus assuring that the full frequency
bandwidth and dynamic range of speech are recorded every time. This high quality of design and manufacture allows a margin of performance which provides an intelligible level of recording under the most demanding of circumstances.
The wide range of the automatic level control will capture a faint whisper, without overloading, even when fists are banged on the table. The exact matching to PZM/ boundary layer microphones ensures that background noise is kept to a minimum.

RELIABILITY

Live interviews cannot be re-enacted and thus it is essential to know that the recording equipment is working properly. The design of equipment incorporates high levels of circuitry which continually monitor both the mechanical and electronic performance giving an audible and visual warning if an interruption or failure occurs.
Full conformance to the Police and Criminal Evidence Act specification, as required by the Home Office, ensures that the interviewer can concentrate on conducting the interview rather than worrying about the performance of the equipment.

EASE OF USE

The easy to use push button operation (Record & Stop) ensures that no difficulties are encountered when using the recorder under the most stressful circumstances.
All functions are checked automatically to the extent that if cassettes are not properly loaded, or unsuitable the recorder will not permit the recording to start.
A clear display of the elapsed time into the recording makes it easy for notes to be taken and used as an aid to subsequent transcription.
